The Mekong Tourism Forum aims to align the public and private sectors in travel and tourism across the six Greater Mekong Subregion countries – Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Yunnan and Guangxi provinces of China. The Forum acts as a meeting place where experts and innovators meet to update travel industry insiders on the latest tourism product news, sustainable and responsible tourism initiatives and issues such as visas and cross-border marketing. The 2010 Mekong Tourism Forum took place in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The 2011 event was in Pakse, Laos on May 27-28. The 2012 Forum will take place in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand.
Travel Trade Show – No Vacancy Thailand
No Vacancy, one of the region’s leading accommodation industry conferences, was successfully staged in Asia for the first time at the Dusit Thani Bangkok, 7 June, 2011. No Vacancy Thailand was a highly interactive day-long hotel industry forum featuring expert speakers, an issued-based program and excellent networking. The spotlight was firmly on web trends, sales, marketing, distribution, yield management and consumer interaction. The event was supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Wego, Travelzoo, the Thai Hotel Association, Pelican System and EZ Yield.
